FAQ

Waxing Is Our Passion

We LOVE it. We get rave reviews from our clients and look forward to providing everyone with an excellent experience. Our goal is to provide you with the time needed to feel comfortable at your waxing. We do not cram appointments together or rush you through the process. Each client is important to us and we take this very personally. Please feel free to ask if you have waxing special requests or questions. Providing excellent client service is our top priority.

Questions we’ve been asked…

What is a bikini wax?

A bikini is essentially everything that would be outside the hem of a standard bikini or bathing suit, including the inner thigh and belly. This is a great place to start if waxing scares the bejeezus out of you and you want to find out if you can handle it.

Extended Bikini wax?

This is like the regular Bikini, but further in. It usually ends up as a “landing strip” or triangle patch being left on the pubis and a bit further in on the inner thigh. It does not include the labia or backside.

Brazilian wax?

“The Holy Grail of Waxing”… “The Queen Mother of Hairlessness”… “The wax that will make your boyfriend buy you diamonds!” Not really, but it’s pretty danged awesome. A Brazilian is everything: top, middle, backside, inner thighs and often the belly. It’s all included if you wax with us. That being said, if you want a triangle or landing strip, we can do that. We DO NOT do fancy shapes, stars or initials or butterflies or unicorns, that sort of silliness. We’d have to charge a lot for that sort of thing because of the time involved and we’d prefer not to raise our prices.

When you say backside…?

Yep! “I have hair back there???” We love this question! Well, of course you do! Everyone does. The “backside” is exactly what it sounds like: your butt crack. And having it waxed is awesome!

Does it hurt?

There will be some discomfort at times, but most people end up saying that it wasn’t nearly as bad as they thought. We do use some techniques that may help distract you from the pain at your request. Two main factors are the leading cause of pain during waxing: the esthetician’s experience and the quality of wax being used. We have performed well over 5,000 brazilian waxes; so we know what we’re doing and how to make this the least painful experience possible.

How often should I wax?

Every 4-6 weeks. Or depending on how hairless you prefer to be, every 2-8 weeks. It’s better to wax at regular intervals because it’s less painful, but you might want to come in every 2 weeks or wait 8 weeks, its really up to you. It is important not to abandon waxing after your first appointment. It usually takes 2-3 appointments to get into a rhythm and really experience the true benefits of waxing.

What kind of wax do you use?

We use a special antimicrobial and antibacterial resin called Nufree. Nufree is a medical grade soy based resin and is not made from sugars or wax. Nufree was developed by a plastic surgeon for pre-op use. Nufree is NOT a wax. It is the only NON-WAX, soy-based hair removal system on the planet! It is antimicrobial (destroys growth of microorganisms), antibacterial (destroys the growth of bacteria) and anhydrous (a repellent to all moisture). You do not run any risks in having staph bacteria survive in this product. Nufree is so safe and gentle it can remove hair on over 98% of the body. No waxes can say that. We love this “wax”…it’s the best we’ve ever worked with and is one of the finest and most expensive on the market (twice as expensive as what most waxers use). We think it’s important to use excellent products and be thorough in our practice.

Is waxing sanitary?

Can I get an STD? Absolutely not. Wax is antibacterial by nature. It is impossible to transfer anything during a wax.

The Don'ts of Waxing

If you fall under any of these categories, you should NOT proceed with waxing or tinting service until medically able:

*Being treated with chemotherapy

*Using glycolic or alpha hydroxy acid products in the past 48 hours prior of the service

*Currently using Retin A, Acutane, Renova or Differin

*Been working overly exposed to the sun within the last 48 hours

*Work near a UV source

*Use a tanning bed on a regular basis

I started my period, can I still get waxed?

Yes you can! Just wear a tampon and don’t worry about it. Though, if you feel uncomfortable we totally understand, and you can reschedule your appointment. If this happens please notify us as soon as possible.
